
As the principal of Barnard Ventures, Scott Barnard directly manages all activities of the firm, all financial relationships and some of the firm’s consulting development accounts.
Mr. Barnard formed Barnard Ventures, wholly owned by himself, in 1998 after a three-year period of owning ZB Investment Company with a development partner. As the managing member, Mr. Barnard was responsible for $30 million in projects that ZB Investment Company owned outright or with financial partners, in addition to overseeing numerous projects in a consulting capacity
Mr. Barnard also oversaw the development management of two major office towers within Koll Center Irvine, entitlement activities in the city of Irvine and the development of more than 600,000 square feet of industrial projects in San Diego and Riverside counties while employed by The Koll Company. Mr. Barnard also practiced architecture with Strock Architects in Newport Beach, acting as project architect for Xerox Center in Santa Ana, California, a 15-story office tower. Other architecture projects include numerous R&D and low-rise office projects in the Orange County airport area.
Mr. Barnard earned a Bachelor of Architecture and a Masters of Architecture degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, attended the Architectural Association in London and holds both architectural and real estate brokerage licenses from the State of California. Mr. Barnard is also a LEED Accredited Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council. He previously served the NAIOP Inland Empire chapter as president and the Irvine Business Complex Consortium as chairman. Mr. Barnard enjoys competitively racing sailboats in national and international regattas and is an avid cyclist and snow skier.
